Lots of snow today. I went to take Duncan for a walk at the park, but they were closed, with the lots blocked off.

Last Thursday, I got about 4.5 inches of rain at my house (Akron). A good ground soaking. I got a bit of wet carpet in my basement, but no damage. I hear there was bad flooding in the valley.
Hasn’t rained since, so I’ve still had to water my garden, but not as much.
Yesterday, a storm came through. Knocked some trees down and knocked out power at my parents’ house for 27 hours. Luckily they got a whole-house generator a couple years back, and it worked like a champ.

Continue reading post "#4261"The weather has been positively spring-like. Some of the bulb plants in my yard have been sprouting and some of the snow-drops I planted this past fall have actually been blooming already. I’ve been trying to spend extra time outside, especially when the sun is out.
I was not expecting this much snow. First of the year to require shoveling.
